Experience & Inspiring teachers: I discovered yoga 15 years ago while living on Cortes Island…I was 19 years old. I practiced for many years using books and just making it up as I’d go along. I am a largely self taught yogini as I’ve taken very few formal classes in my life. I like to practice at home or in nature and discover things through personal experience. I believe the body has an intelligence far beyond our sphere of conscious awareness and if we listen closely…an intricate story unfolds, ever changing.
I finished my teacher training in 2009 at Moksana Yoga in Victoria BC and have been developing and learning as a teacher ever since. Teachers that have inspired me are my beautiful children Jonah and Sylvie…true yogis of the heart. The beautiful Flickerine Stevens, Paula Hamilton, Heather Frazer, and the always inspiring Natalie Rousseau.
I love yoga: because it sets me free! I feel like my soul sings when I’m practicing yoga…it comes from my heart.
I love teaching yoga: because it is a way of bringing the strands of community together by bringing us into a more authentic relationship with ourselves and others. Teaching yoga feels like an expression of my truest nature and a way to give others permission to shine and discover what they are made of(stars!).
Coastal Bliss means to me: a safe place to inspire expression, connection, and community
Health and wellness mean to me: balance…joy, respect for ourselves and our communities and beautiful planet earth.
My philosophical outlook is: Live life from your heart. Practice compassion, practice freedom, be open to many truths. We are all one. Namaste.
